Get yourself a free Benefit they're real push-up liner!

Hi ladies

Here's a quick post to tell you about a great offer in Boots. Swap an old liner (from any brand) for a deluxe sample size of the much hyped they're real push-up liner. The much talked about liner has received mixed reviews in the past few months so if you're unsure whether to take the £18.50 plunge, here is a way to test it out.

Cue all the photos...

This isn't a review (there are plenty out there) as these photos are courtesy of my cousin (I spread the word quick when I come across these kinds of offers).

The offer lasts for 2 weeks from 29th August and as usual, it's while stocks last. So drop by as soon as you can with any old eyeliner and get yourself a new mini sized they're real.

Till next time...Toodles! :)

KIKO ultra glossy lip pencils.

Hi ladies

I love popping into the KIKO store in westfield to see what products they have on sale. They usually have a table down the middle where they've got discounted lip liners, lip sticks, nail polishes etc and I've picked up a number of lip liners for the bargain sum of £1. These glossy lip pencils usually retail for £5.80 so that's a 80% discount. You can currently grab them for £1 on the website too, which could be a sign that they are being discontinued.

I rarely use lip liners just to line my lips. It is something I usually use all over and sometimes (most times) without a lipstick on top. So the fact that these were glossy made me think they would be comfortable for the intended purpose.
614 is the more pinky shade and 615 is the lilac shade which they call purple orchid. In hindsight, 615 is just too light for my skintone and isn't something I'd use. 614 is a sort of mid toned pink and definitely more of a wearable colour for me.

I'd compare the texture of this to a MAC lustre but instead of a vanilla scent it has a fruity scent. It takes a while to build up the colour and then leaves the lips feeling moisturised, slightly sticky and somewhat wet looking. I sharpened 614 and as I tried to apply it again, the tip fell off. I find you have to press quite hard to get enough pigment so I see this being a common occurrence and if I wear it enough, it'll be half the size in no time. If you're looking for a lip liner to just line the lips or under a lipstick, I definitely wouldn't recommend this. I feel these are designed to be used alone and anything on top would feel weird.

If you're looking for a cheap lip liner (when it's on sale of course) and want to stay away from the usual drying/matte lip liners you can find, then KIKO is an option. They usually have lots of shades so I'm sure you can find something to suit you.

Till next time...Toodles! :)

High End lipstick haul.

Hi ladies

So turns out on 29th July, it was National Lipstick day (I swear some of these 'National *insert word* days' are just absurd) but I wasn't complaining because Debenhams were giving a whole £5 off every lipstick.  I managed to get a bit overexcited. At one point I had 10 lipsticks in my basket, totalling over £100. I hadn't even considered an Armani lipstick till that point but for some reason £5 off made my mind think it was some sort of bargain. Don't worry, I came to my senses pretty quickly. I managed to cut it down to 5 lipsticks in the end and saved £25 on my order. I also went through TopCashBack which saved me a further few quid.

Not only did I get a fiver off every lipstick, I got the freebies in the photo above. I was particularly excited by the Estee Lauder foundation brush.
These are the spur of the moment shades I bought.
MAC patisserie was a Lily Pebbles inspired purchase. I have no idea what even prompted me to check out Speak Louder. I'd never even considered a Bobbi Brown lipstick. The Illamasqua lipstick was due to the recent coverage it had received and finally the Urban Decay was down to the hype.

I tried to get a variety of shades but my focus for this haul was more 'true nudes'. I don't have many in my collection so three of the colours are meant to be natural. In some cases, in hindsight maybe overly natural but I'll discuss that in the individual reviews. The two non nudes were speak louder and Guava. I have no idea why I went with Guava. I don't own any Bobbi Brown lipsticks and I knew I wanted to try one with the discount so I began thinking which shades I don't own and decided on adding a coral to the mix. We'll see how that goes.

It feels weird not putting any swatches in this post (I have never understood why people don't add swatches when reviewing colour cosmetics) but this isn't a review, just a haul. Keep your eyes peeled for reviews and swatches of each these.

Did you take advantage of the Debenhams offer? No more lipsticks for me...

Till next time...Toodles! :)
